Founder Caleb Harris grew up on a working dairy farm in Michigan, where he developed a hands-on understanding of machinery, problem-solving, and hard work. After entering the single-pass trenching industry as an equipment operator, Caleb spent years mastering every phase of trench construction, from design and constructability reviews to complex field installations.
In 2003, he and key industry veterans began executing one-pass trenching projects that set new benchmarks for depth, precision, and environmental safety. L4H Trenching was born from that foundation, bringing together a team with decades of experience on projects across mining, energy, infrastructure, and environmental remediation.
Our leadership and crews are HAZWOPER, MSHA, and OSHA certified, with direct experience on demanding trenching projects for industries including aerospace, energy, mining, and environmental remediation.
While these projects were completed under previous employers, our team members have worked on sites for NASA, the US Air Force, ExxonMobil, BP, Dominion Energy, Shell, Suncor, PotashCorp, Golder, AECOM, Arcadis, and other major organizations. That knowledge, from navigating complex regulatory requirements to working in high-stakes environments, is what we now bring to every L4H project.
